This simple recipe for Spaghetti with Mackerel in Spicy Tomato Sauce is a real treat for the senses. Picture this: tender spaghetti tossed in a zesty, spicy sauce with flavorful mackerel—it’s like a seaside escape where the breeze and sunshine blend together perfectly.
Ingrediants
- 1 can of Diavena mackerel in spicy tomato sauce (180 g)
- 150 g spaghetti or your preferred pasta (enough for 2 servings)
- 2 garlic cloves
- 200 ml tomato purée
- A handful of capers
- Grated Parmesan for sprinkling
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil for the spaghetti.
- Once the water is boiling, add the spaghetti and cook until al dente, following the package instructions.
- When the spaghetti is done, remove it from the heat and drain.
To Make the Sauce:
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the tomato paste and garlic, cooking until the paste thickens slightly.
- Pour in the contents of the can of Diavena mackerel, including the tomato sauce, and stir gently.
- Warm for a few minutes (If you’d like to serve the mackerel in whole pieces, be careful not to break them apart. Once warmed, you can remove them from the pan).
- Add the drained spaghetti to the spicy tomato mackerel sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Stir well to combine the pasta with the sauce, and cook for about one more minute.
- Serve the spaghetti, arrange the mackerel on top, and finish with capers and a sprinkle of Parmesan.
Enjoy while the dish is hot!
